What is disodium EDTA
2022-04-14
Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, also known as EDTA, is a good compounding agent in chemistry. It has six coordination atoms, and the formed complex is called chelate. EDTA is often used in coordination titrations, generally for the determination of metals. ion content.
Features
1. EDTA has a wide range of coordination properties and can form stable chelates with almost all metal ions.
Advantages: Provides the possibility of a wide range of elements (better than acid-base and precipitation methods).
Disadvantage: Interference between multiple components - selectivity.
2. The coordination ratio of EDTA to the formed M-EDTA is mostly 1:1.
3. Most of the chelates are charged, so they can dissolve in water and react quickly. CASNo.: 6381-92-6.
Toxicity protection: This product has low toxicity. Oral LD50 for rats is 2000 mg/kg. See "EDTA" for other toxicity and protection contents.
Packing: Packed in cartons or sacks lined with double-layer plastic bags, 80kg per bag.
Physical and chemical properties: white crystalline powder. Low toxicity, soluble in water, the pH value of 5% aqueous solution is 4~6. Acidic. Insoluble in alcohol.
Mainly used as complexing agent.
