Lincomycin hydrochloride, also known as Chloramphenicol Hydrochloride, Jiminlike, Lincomycin Hydrochloride, Lincomycin Hydrochloride, Lokomycin Hydrochloride, Lincomycin Hydrochloride, is a white crystalline powder with a slight or special odor at room temperature. It has a bitter taste and is easily soluble in water or methanol. Its hydrochloride form is commonly used in feed. This drug is a product of the growth of Streptomyces lincolnensis, a group of Streptomyces fungi. It is an alkaline Lincosamide antibiotic that acts on the 50S subunit of the ribosome of sensitive bacteria, preventing peptide chain elongation and inhibiting protein synthesis in bacterial cells. It has antibacterial effects, but also has bactericidal effects on highly sensitive bacteria at high concentrations. The antibacterial spectrum is the same as that of lincomycin, but the antibacterial activity is strong, and oral absorption is fast and complete (about 90%). Eating has little effect on absorption. Lincomycin hydrochloride mainly has strong antibacterial effects on Gram positive bacteria, certain anaerobic bacteria, and mold forms, with a narrower antibacterial spectrum than erythromycin. Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus hemolyticus, pneumococci, Mycoplasma suis and Mycoplasma gallisepticum are sensitive to this product, but Enterococcus is generally resistant to this product; Anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroidetes, Tetanus, Clostridium, Clostridium, and Enterococcus are also sensitive to this product. Mainly used for the treatment of various infections caused by gram-positive bacteria, especially penicillin resistant gram-positive bacteria, chronic respiratory diseases in poultry caused by mycoplasma, porcine asthma, anaerobic bacterial infections such as necrotizing enteritis in chickens, as well as for the treatment of porcine treponema dysentery, toxoplasmosis, and actinomycosis in dogs and cats.
