Use:
Fipronil is a phenylpyrazole insecticide, a GABA-chlorine channel inhibitor. Fipronil has a wide insecticidal spectrum, mainly stomach toxicity to pests, and has both contact and certain systemic effects. Its insecticidal mechanism is to hinder the chloride metabolism controlled by insect γ-aminobutyric acid. Important pests such as cicadas, planthoppers, lepidopteran larvae, flies and coleoptera have high insecticidal activity and no phytotoxicity to crops. Fipronil has no cross-resistance with existing insecticides, and is effective against resistant or sensitive pests such as organophosphorus, organochlorine, carbamate, and pyrethroid. This agent can be applied to the soil, or foliar spray. Suitable crops are rice, corn, cotton, bananas, sugar beets, potatoes, peanuts, etc. The recommended dosage is not harmful to crops.
Physical and chemical properties:
The pure product is a white solid with a melting point of 200~201°C and a density of 1.477~1.626 (20°C). Vapor pressure 3.7×10-7pa (20℃); partition coefficient (25℃) logP=4.0. Solubility in water (20°C, mg/L) 1.9 (distilled water), 1.9 (PH=5), 2.4 (PH=9); solubility in other solvents (20°C, g/L): acetone 545.9, dichloromethane 22.3, Toluene 3.0, hexane < 0.028. It is stable in water of PH=5 and 7, slowly hydrolyzed at PH=9, DT50 is about 28 days, slowly degraded under sunlight, but can be rapidly decomposed in aqueous solution by light.
