Florfenicol is a synthetic monofluoro derivative of thiamphenicol, the molecular formula is C12H14Cl2FNO4S, white or off-white crystalline powder, odorless, very slightly soluble in water and chloroform, slightly soluble in glacial acetic acid, soluble in in methanol and ethanol. It is a new broad-spectrum antibiotic of chloramphenicol for veterinary use, which was successfully developed in the late 1980s.
Indications: Florfenicol can strongly interfere with bacterial protein synthesis, with rapid absorption, wide distribution in the body, long half-life, no aplastic side effects, no drug resistance, no residue, and no cross-resistance. Florfenicol can be used for systemic infection treatment of livestock, poultry and aquatic animals, and has significant curative effect on respiratory system infection and intestinal infection. Poultry: mixed infection caused by various sensitive bacteria such as colibacillosis, salmonellosis, infectious rhinitis, chronic respiratory disease, duck plague, etc. Livestock: Infectious pleuritis, asthma, streptococcosis, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, infectious pleuropneumonia, asthma, piglet paratyphoid, yellow and white dysentery, edema disease, atrophic rhinitis, pig lung epidemic, piglet red and white diarrhea, agalactia syndrome and other mixed infections.
