Effectively controlling blue ear disease
The control and purification of blue ear disease in pig farms is one of the major issues that urgently need to be addressed for the healthy development of the pig industry. Effective vaccines and reasonable immunization plans are the basic principles for the prevention and control of blue ear disease in pig farms. Professor Yang Hanchun's advocacy of blue ear disease purification and biosafety is one of the tested and feasible important plans.
In recent years, the emergence of Tyvaccins has provided new ideas for controlling blue-ear disease in pig farms: Stuart found that based on its unique physicochemical properties and pharmacological characteristics, Tyvaccins can enter the cell and accumulate in secondary bodies. Tyvaccins' alkaline properties improve the pH value in secondary bodies, promoting the inability of the blue-ear disease virus envelope to fuse with secondary bodies, which in turn are digested by the produced lysosomes, This prevents the replication of the blue ear disease virus in the cytoplasm.
Related studies have shown that temicoxacin also has a certain control effect on blue ear disease, but it enters the cell less and accumulates poorly in secondary bodies. Only when the concentration reaches 400mg/L and is continuously fed for 21 days, it shows fewer clinical symptoms of blue ear disease, improved feed return rate, and weight gain
Brown et al. found in their pharmacodynamic study of Tyvaccins that the use of Tyvaccins in vitro experiments reduced the proportion of positive cells infected with blue ear disease virus from 75% to 40%.
The study by Stuart et al. [5] showed that compared with the untreated group, the experimental group infected with blue ear disease in Europe and America showed a significant decrease in cell count. Compared with the drug treated control group, tylosin did not show an inhibitory effect on blue ear disease replication, while temicoxacin showed a certain effect under high-dose conditions
