White needle shaped or flake shaped crystalline or crystalline powder with a relative density of 2.112. It is easily soluble in water and acids, and the aqueous solution is strongly alkaline, but weaker than sodium carbonate. ADI does not require special regulations (FAO/WHO, 1996).
